I found out about Urban Tandoor from a friend who lives in Harrison. Finally got a chance to try with my friend’s family for a big dinner. I called in a day before to reserve our table, was an easy process. Upon arrival we found street parking right in front of the restaurant and got to sit down at our table immediately. The restaurant was modern with a huge bar. The menu had lots of popular and exciting Indian dishes + appetizers. There were some Indo Chinese dishes as well. The menu had a lot of alcoholic beverages and cocktail as well. I of course ordered the mango lassi that was excellent, sweet and dense. Food wise everything I tried was delicious. The paya soup, samosa chaat, bhindi masala, shrimp korma, chicken tandoori, tikka masala, goat biryani, butter naan, paratha all were prepared so well with incredible flavor and spice. For dessert we ordered the gulab jamun, rasmalai and gajar halwa, again all them were so tasty. The service throughout the dinner was good. Empty plates were taken out quickly. The dishes took some time to come out, about 20 minutes between appetizers and main course, but probably because they wanted us to take our sweet time at the dinner. Had a wonderful dining experience at Urban Tadka! We started off with soups – the tomato soup, manchow soup, and the highlight of the evening, the Hyderabadi paya (goat) soup. The paya soup was absolutely delicious and brought back authentic Indian flavors in every sip. For starters, we tried the malai chicken and chicken 65. Both dishes were well-prepared and flavorful, and the Indo-Western touch worked really well. We prefer Indian-level spicy food, and the spice levels here were just perfect for us. For the main course, we ordered a combo meal that included a mix of breads – 2 garlic naans, 1 butter naan, and 1 tandoori roti. We paired it with chicken Chettinad and mutton curry. The chicken Chettinad was good (I’d rate it 4/5), but the mutton curry was the real star – perfectly slow-cooked, tender, and full of rich flavors (5/5!). The rice bowl served alongside completed the meal nicely. Last, for desert we had pan ice cream (4scoups) was worth every penny. Overall, it was a great experience with delicious food and authentic flavors. Definitely a place worth visiting if you enjoy rich, spicy Indian cuisine! The food here is some of the best I’ve had anywhere in Harrison — and even in New Jersey. We found this place on Instagram and reached out to them about hosting one of our office parties. One of our team members had come here before and recommended that we book it. They gave us a really good price per head, and the food was amazing. They were serving Chicken 65, butter lamb chops, and outstanding shrimp dishes that were being passed around. I didn’t get to try everything, but I can tell you that what I had was incredible. I would highly recommend the lamb chops, Hyderabadi Chicken 65 Biryani, Shrimp Pataka, and Crispy Corn Chaat. Their Navratan Korma, Dal Makhani and tandoori naan were also absolutely delicious. For Dessert they brought out a bunch of different house-made ice creams.. The Cassata was my favorite. And the atmosphere — when we walked in, it felt like we were transported to an NYC restaurant. This place truly has the vibe of a New York City spot, but the food isn’t just hype. The drinks were also some of the best Indian drinks I’ve ever had — tamarind margaritas, chai martinis, and all kinds of fun cocktails. The bartender was great, too. We’ve been in this area for a while, but this was our first time here. It’s definitely the best Indian restaurant in Harrison, and maybe even in New Jersey. We’re definitely coming back with the family. Tried Urban Tandoor in Harrison and it turned out way better than expected. We ordered the Urban Goat Curry (medium spicy) — the server warned us it would be spicy, and he wasn’t kidding. The heat hits immediately, but in a good way. … More

Had a great dining experience at Urban Tandoori. The Tandoor Paneer was exceptionally well-marinated and packed with flavor. The Dal Makhani was light and not overly heavy, making it very enjoyable. Their non-alcoholic drinks were refreshing and complemented the meal perfectly. Overall recommend the place!
